Starting Out

Just starting out on your Internet Marketing career? The best way to get into blogging is with your own hosted blog such as those provided by WordPress.org. The feeling is that hosted blogs get more respect, so to speak, from the search engines, and I feel there is some truth to this.

If you don’t want to part with about $10.00 a month for hosting though (cheap!) then a Blogger blog is the way to go. Why? Because they are free (always good) and are very easy to add content and monetize. Also, Bogger is owned by Google, the biggest search engine of all, so kudos from them is great.

Creating Content

Hosted or free you will need to create content for your new blog. The easiest way to create this content is to blog about a subject you know well, or better still, are even an expert in. This will limit the amount of research you have to do (very time consuming!) and make your content creation flow quickly and smoothly.

In the first stages of choosing your niche you should try to get into your future visitor’s heads and figure out just what it is you’ll be able to sell to them. You want to make money right? Then as an Internet Marketer and blogger this should be your ultimate goal and deserves a good deal of thought.

You can go about this in many different ways, but I think the best way is to concentrate on running an interesting, and therefore successful, blog. You build your brand, credibility, online presence, and you then write a lot (better get used to it!).

Choosing Your Niche

If you choose a niche you are passionate about, some of your readers will share your passion and become part of your community of like minded individuals. Work within this community and build relationships because in the end that’s what making money online is all about (to my way of thinking anyway): building relationships, and working with people.

Summary

Making money blogging isn’t really all that difficult but it will take some concerted effort on your part and it probably won’t happen overnight. Enjoy your blogging, get good at it, think about traffic and money making opportunities, but don’t obsess about it. Who knows? You may want to enter a second niche, then a third. This could be the start of something big!
