The Benefits Of Using WordPress

Foreword By The Editor

Thanks are due to Dhruv Patel for the following article submission. Blogs are such an important part of the Web 2.0 phenomenon yet they get only scant attention in comparison to other aspects. Of all the blog programs available, WordPress is by far and away the most popular; and for good reason, as Dhruv outlines so well here. Please be sure to follow the links in About The Author at the conclusion of this article.

WordPress has seen rapid growth over the last several years due to its appeal to both readers and writers around the world. Anyone interested in setting up a personal blogging site definitely needs to check out the benefits included and learn how to post in WordPress. After that, they can set up a blog on any number of interests and topics.

WordPress, unlike a lot of similar applications, has some great graphical editing abilities. Therefore users include artists, business people, poets, students and writers alike. The system is also an amazing way to connect to the outside world as many people greatly enjoy setting up and managing a blog. WordPress is an open source application developed and powered by PHP and MySQL. It is very user friendly both in terms of content and workflow.

Although, WordPress initially began in 2003, it has only taken off in popularity since 2009. This was due to newer features which include great posting and content management. In addition, when one sets up a blog in WordPress, it is very easy to manage and update when necessary.

Popularity

Today, WordPress is attracting both readers and writers alike. For if one publishes a blog, one can then place a link to their page from other related blogging sites and web pages accordingly. Therefore, not only is the system good when creating or editing information, it is also a tool to aid in finding information quickly on the internet.

So, although WordPress can be a great application for experienced computer professionals, it is also a system that many start using while still in high school. While very different from other systems such as Facebook and Myspace, it still allows individuals to connect, based on a common interest in a particular subject rather than other individuals whom one might know.

One way in which WordPress has become popular, especially with artists and writers, is the many applications one can create within the program. These include such things as calendar, information, notices, postings and other related material can all be posted to system. However, the one thing that is not allowed is any form of spamming, and thankfully so.

Content Management

As WordPress is integrated with regards to managing content on the web, it is a system many users find quite easy to learn and use. Also, if there are other articles or postings similar to the one a user types into WordPress, the system will automatically provide links to such websites. Therefore, whether you are an artist, musician, poet or just an individual with a lot to say on a specific topic then setting up a blog page is a great way to attract more attention while at the same time assuring information is correct and up to date.

Therefore, WordPress can be a good way to create and learn how to post good content. Remember however that newer users may want to take it slowly in order to get all they can out of the system. After the initial learning curve though, you can create amazing blogs using WordPress along with all the great graphical editing and other applications which are available now.
